Maria Nicolaou, Msc, BCBA, IBA
Maria is a dedicated Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA), with the positive attitude and patience necessary to teach the principles of applied behaviour analysis (ABA) and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS). With a masters in Applied Behaviour Analysis from the University of Kent, she has been working in the field of autism since 2012. During this time, she has worked with individuals of various ages (2-34 years old), across the autism spectrum.
Maria has overseen and consulted ABA teams, supervised those working towards their credentials (RBTs, BCaBAs, BCBAs), and provided training and guidance to parents and carers. Being adept at working with children and young people (CYP) and adults with autism, she has wrote and implemented programmes using the principles of ABA and PBS. Her two key goals are firstly, to provide training for parents / carers to make positive changes by understanding behaviour and what the behaviour is trying to communicate. Secondly, to help and support CYP and adults with autism to develop skills and improve their quality of life.
Through her career, Maria delivered a variety of workshops and online courses to parents, carers and organisations aiming to develop their skills and autism knowledge. Her aim is to continue being an active member of the behaviour analytical profession while developing as a behaviour analyst.
